Dr. Al-Husseini Al-Sheikh (1910-1999) was born in the village of Kutama, Basyoun Center, in the Western District (Governorate). He received a traditional religious education. He joined Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. It included in the College of Sharia the famous Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Khater Sheikh, and 3 prominent figures from the College of Fundamentals of Religion who took the position of Undersecretary of Al-Azhar graduated from it (they are the sheikhs Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahman Bisar, who also became the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Abdul Moneim Al-Nimr who also became Minister of Endowments, and Muhammad Al-Tayeb Al-Najjar, who also became president of Al-Azhar University.
Qualification of the global professorship in jurisprudence
Dr. Al-Husseini Al-Sheikh enrolled in graduate studies after his graduation, where he decided to study for the international certificate of the degree of professor, which he obtained in 1947, and worked as a teacher in Al-Azhar institutes. Then he became one of the first Al-Azhar professors who taught in Al-Azhar colleges. Shafi’is in Al-Azhar. He was close in status and destiny to Sheikh Ahmed Fahmy Abu Sunna (1909-2004), who had become one of the oldest Azhari scholars of Sharia, even if one of them did not reach the same age as Sheikh Hassanein Makhlouf, who died after he passed a hundred.
His work in Sudan
Dr. Al-Husseini Al-Sheikh was seconded to Sudan in 1967 for a full academic year.
Membership of the Islamic Research Academy
Dr. Al-Husseini Al-Sheikh was one of the oldest members of the Islamic Research Academy in age.
Bless him in his son
It was destined for this venerable Sheikh to see his son, Dr. Abdel-Fattah, dean of the Faculty of Sharia and President of Al-Azhar University, and also to see him as a former president of the university after serving 8 years in its presidency (1987-1995).
