The consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers will start today, Tuesday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, to discuss developments in the region, the situation in Palestine and the recent Israeli war on Gaza.
The meeting aims to confirm the Arab position on the necessity of resuming the political track in accordance with international references and the two-state solution as the way for non-renewed violence in the region.
The meeting will also discuss the efforts of the ministerial committee that was formed under the chairmanship of Qatar to follow up developments in the Palestinian territories and reconstruction efforts, in addition to the request submitted to the International Criminal Court to investigate Israeli attacks, especially the forced displacement of Palestinians from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

The statement added that Al-Maliki will meet with the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani during his current visit.

Al-Maliki will also participate in the first meeting of the ministerial committee formed by the League of Arab States to follow up on work with the Security Council, the European Union and the rest of the regional and international groupings to stop these attacks, and open political horizons that allow for a return to negotiations on the basis of international legitimacy and references.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the ministers will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the crisis of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, at the request of Egypt and Sudan.
Yesterday, Monday, Egyptian-Qatari talks were held in Doha, headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that Cairo is seeking a diplomatic solution to the Renaissance Dam crisis, stressing that Egypt and Sudan have the capabilities to defend their interests.
Shoukry stressed that all options are on the table to deal with the dam crisis, and that Egypt is working with international partners to avoid increasing tension.
