Arsenal Football Club announced the departure of 8 players, including Brazilian defender David Luiz, from the team, in addition to the return of Norwegian Martin Hildegarde and his colleague Dani Ceballos to Real Madrid after the end of their loan period to Arsenal.

Veteran Brazilian defender David Luiz had indicated that he would leave Arsenal at the end of his contract, when he addressed a farewell speech to the fans through his account on “Instagram” last month.

It is noteworthy that Luiz, 34, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a deal estimated by the media at 8 million pounds ($ 11.29 million) in August 2019, participated in 73 matches in all competitions with coach Mikel Arteta’s team.

On the other hand, Odegaard and Ceballos will return to Real Madrid after the end of their loan period to the Gunners.

Odegaard, who joined Arsenal last January, had participated in 20 matches in all competitions under Arteta’s leadership, scoring two goals and making the same.

Ceballos had signed for Arsenal on loan in July of 2019, before the loan was extended in September of last year, after a wonderful season that started with two goals in his first participation in the English Premier League, a feat he did not achieve at Arsenal. by Sui Ray Parlor and Henrik Mkhitaryan.

Ceballos, 24, participated in 40 matches with Arsenal last season, including 25 starting matches.

    Ancelotti’s role

Each player on loan from Real Madrid was expected to move permanently to Arsenal, and with the loan return, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti discussed the chances of Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard to participate with the team in the 2021-2022 season.

“With that list and without loan players like Gareth Bale, Odegaard and Ceballos, the team reached the Champions League semi-finals and competed for the league title, so we have the players who can win trophies,” Ancelotti told ABC.

Goalkeeper Matt Ryan will leave the team after a short loan spell, while Levi Lang, Joseph Olu, Luke Pang and Jason Saraha have all been all dismissed.

Arsenal said in a statement, “All developments related to the players, the extension of their contracts and their joining or leaving the team will be officially announced as soon as they are confirmed.”

“We thank the departing players for their efforts and contributions to the team during their permanent contracts or loan periods,” he added.

Arsenal finished last season in the English Premier League in eighth place with 61 points.
