On the other hand, according to a statement issued by the European Parliament on Wednesday, the holder of a passport that proves receiving the Corona vaccine, will be given complete freedom of movement within the bloc’s countries without the need for a quarantine period or a safety examination from the virus.
Parliament’s approval does not mean the beginning of the implementation of the new step, as the passport must be approved by the European Union countries before the end of this month, before the approval enters into force, starting from the beginning of next July, and it will last for 12 months.
The passport includes confirmation from the health authorities within the union that the holder has obtained a vaccine against the virus, has recovered from the disease, or has recently undergone a negative test.
In this context, the US State Department eased travel warnings due to the Corona pandemic to 90 countries, from the fourth level, which recommends not to travel, to the third level, “Reconsider travel.”
Among these countries is Japan, which will host the Tokyo Olympics, as of June 23.
In a related context, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eased travel warnings for 110 countries, from the fourth to the third level, including France, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia and Jordan, as well as Libya, Russia, Spain and Switzerland, including Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary and Italy.
The US centers also reduced an additional 50 countries and regions to “Tier Two” or “Tier One”, including Singapore, Israel, South Korea, Iceland and Albania.
Globally, a Reuters statistic showed that about 174 million people were infected with the Corona virus, while the total number of deaths caused by the virus reached 3 million and 890 thousand.
The United States is at the forefront of the affected countries, with a toll of 597,000 deaths, and more than 33 million and 538 thousand injured, then India, which recorded 353,000 deaths and more than 29 million injured, followed by Brazil with 473,000 deaths and 17 million injured.
The Indian government is still struggling to cope with the rapid spread of the epidemic, as today, Wednesday, 92,596 new infections were recorded during the past 24 hours, along with 2,219 deaths.
