Israeli sources warned of a first storm that might hit the recent Israeli-Emirati relations, amid expectations of canceling an agreement to pump Emirati oil through an Israeli line, and the Israeli Ministry of Health also warned against traveling to the UAE due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.
The newspaper, “Israel Today”, which supports outgoing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said that the damage to relations is due to expectations of the possibility of canceling a previous agreement between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, according to which the UAE would pump its oil to the Mediterranean through the Eilat-Ashkelon pipeline known as the “Katsa” pipeline.
The
The project was supposed to transport UAE oil to Europe, via a pipeline linking the ports of Eilat on the Red Sea and Ashkelon on the Mediterranean, noting that most of this oil currently passes through the Suez Canal.
On the other hand, the Israeli Ministry of Health warned against traveling to the UAE due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus in it, as the ministry included it in the list of countries classified as dangerous in terms of health, including Uganda, the Maldives and Ethiopia.
A statement issued by the Israeli Ministry of Health stated that if the spread of the pandemic does not decline in these countries within a short period, they will be classified as very dangerous countries, and travel to them will only be permitted with exceptional permits.
