Football fans around the world celebrated, through social media, the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, after equalizing the Iranian number, Ali Daei, and reaching the 109th goal with his country.
Ronaldo scored Portugal’s two goals in its match against France, yesterday, Wednesday, at the end of the group stage matches in the Euro, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
And the European Football Association (UEFA), through the account of the Euro 2020 championship, described Ronaldo as a goal machine, and the game experts around the world praised him.
“Congratulations to Ronaldo…who is now one goal away from breaking the men’s international goal record,” Daei said in an Instagram post.
For his part, Ronaldo republished what Daei said, via the short story feature in Instagram, and replied, “The true hero will remain a hero forever. I felt very proud when I read these kind words from a legend like you. Thank you for Daei.”
And the fans expressed, on the communication platforms, their happiness with Ronaldo’s arrival at this achievement, which is an extension of the record series that he is breaking during the European Championship.
Sports analyst, Mohamed Awad, commented in his tweet, “You can discuss anything about Ronaldo, but you will not be able to argue that he is (the most ambitious and renewed man in the history of sports).”
Sports commentator Ali Saeed Al-Kaabi said in another tweet, “You can’t stop the clock, and you can’t stop Ronaldo, soon 110 international goals, alone, and the rest behind him, we are happy that we lived his time.”
