For the third time this year, an Israeli occupation force destroyed a forward observation post that it said belonged to the Syrian army near the border with the Golan
An Israeli army statement said that “the point is located in an Israeli area in the middle of the Golan Heights, and that an army force stormed it and blew it up.”
The statement added that the army will not tolerate any attempt to violate what it described as Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan.
There were no immediate reports of deaths or injuries.
Over the past years, Israel has launched dozens of air strikes in Syria, targeting in particular Syrian army sites and Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah targets.
Israel occupied two-thirds of the strategically located Syrian Golan Heights in 1967.
