Wales captain Gareth Bale expected his country to face a hostile atmosphere due to a large Turkish crowd in Baku on Wednesday when the two teams meet in Group A of the European Football Championship, and this will give him more motivation to silence the fans.
Thousands of Turkish fans are expected to arrive in the Azerbaijani capital to watch the match that coach Şenol Güneş’s team must win.
The atmosphere will be completely different from a match in which Wales drew 1-1 with Switzerland in Baku in front of 8,000 fans in the stadium.
Bale said, in a press conference today, Tuesday, “When I played in Turkey before, the atmosphere was very wonderful. Of course they will support the Turkish team, but you need fans in these tournaments.”
