He said that in 1944 – a year before the independence of Indonesia – Palestinian personalities had a supportive stance for the Indonesian people’s struggle for independence after the long Dutch colonialism, including Haji Muhammad Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem at that time, and Muhammad Ali Taher, a Palestinian writer and journalist.
