The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was launched in Russia, with the participation of representatives of major international companies and institutions from various sectors, and senior government officials.
Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Brahmanism Al-Thani inaugurated the Qatar National Gallery in the forum, with the participation of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov and representatives of major companies and institutions from Russia and Qatar. In an opening speech, the Qatari Foreign Minister stressed that the Qatari participation in the forum stems from understanding the importance of bilateral cooperation between Doha and Moscow in various fields.
Qatar will participate in the forum – which will be held from 2-5 June – as a guest of honor, represented by one of the largest delegations.
The importance of the forum
The participation of the State of Qatar in the forum aims to shed light on the Qatari economy and its leading position at the regional and international levels and to introduce the attractive investment environment that the State of Qatar provides to businessmen and investors from all over the world, in addition to reviewing the most prominent incentives, advantages and initiatives launched in order to support the private sector and enhance Competitiveness and diversification of the Qatari economy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
It is noteworthy that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was started in 1997, and is considered a leading global platform that brings together under its umbrella an elite of politicians, decision-makers, economic experts, heads of major companies and representatives of the business sector from all countries of the world, as well as representatives of academia, media and civil society.
This year’s forum program includes a set of main topics, the most important of which are “Uniting Efforts for Development” and “Russian Development Objectives: From Tasks to Results”.
The forum also includes organizing dialogues between the Russian business sector and representatives of business sectors in Qatar, Africa, Germany and Italy, as well as Latin America, North America and Finland, as well as France, Sweden and Japan.
In addition, the program includes organizing more than 130 expert discussion sessions covering a wide range of topics for the development of various fields of the economy.
