After building a school, Senegalese star Sadio Mane donated half a million pounds (about 694,000 dollars) to build a hospital in his hometown, fulfilling his wish after his father died of his illness because there was no hospital in or near his village to help him.
The Liverpool star takes it upon himself to develop his remote village of Bambali, where he was born, by implementing some charitable projects to develop the services that it has often suffered from, especially in health and education. And the official website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stated that Mane (29 years) previously donated a quarter of a million pounds (about 350 thousand dollars) to build a school in the village as well.
El Kef said that the new hospital will include several departments, including maternity care, dentistry, consultation clinics, and medical examinations.
Mane met last week with President Macky Sall, to discuss the hospital project and some other charitable projects that the star is espoused to his village.

“Sadio Mane presented to the Head of State an ambitious plan to build a hospital in Bambali, dependent on state support for medical personnel,” a statement from the presidency said on Twitter.
“Mane, who was born in Bambali, now plays for Liverpool after winning the Premier League, the Champions League, the Super Cup and the Club World Cup with his team. He was named African Player of the Year in 2019”, he added.
The Senegalese star said in previous statements that he dreams of establishing a hospital in his village since his father died of his illness because there is no hospital nearby to help him, and Mani also helps the poor people of his village by paying them monthly salaries.
