An opinion poll conducted by the British YouGov Center showed a decline in Israel’s popularity in a number of European countries after the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip.
New YouGov survey data shows that Israel’s popularity across Europe has suffered significantly since the center’s last survey last February, with the country’s net preference rating down 14 points in all countries surveyed. The poll adopted a set of indicators to measure levels of support based on the respondents’ attitudes towards Israeli policies and their impressions of its image.
In Britain, for example, the degree of support for Israel decreased by 27 points in May 2021, and reached minus forty-one (-41), compared to the degree of support recorded in February of this year (-14), and this rating is the lowest level of support for Israel Within Britain since 2016, these points were measured according to a set of indicators analyzing the pattern of support.
The second highest drop in support for Israel was in France, where the score fell by 23 points, to minus thirty-six (-36), after it was no more than minus thirteen (-13), which is the lowest acceptance rating among the French since May 2019.
The level of support for Israel also witnessed a remarkable decrease in Denmark by 22 points, as the score fell on 17 in May 2021 to (-39), after it was (-17) last February.
Germany.. my favorite
While the degree of decline in support in Sweden reached 14 points, and in Germany, it reached 14 points, respectively, between February 10 and May 24.
Germany stands out from the rest of the countries surveyed with the highest rating favoring Israel at (-24), i.e. 9 points higher than the second highest country, Sweden, with a support score of minus (-33).
The preparation of figures and data (YouGov), which is one of the largest research networks in the world, was accompanied by a great wave of sympathy with the Palestinians, during the days of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, most notably the demonstrations that took place in several European capitals.
