The British Independent said that a field visit to a hospital – which was recently bombarded with a barrage of missiles – in the Afrin region in northeastern Syria – revealed the devastating impact of the ongoing military conflict in this country.
The newspaper stated – in a report by its correspondent Borzo Daragahi – that this tour, which also included French media and took place through a small convoy of armored vehicles, is one of the “few and rare” visits organized by the Turkish military authorities in control of the region to inform journalists about the reality on the ground and the extent of the destruction wrought.
