Political researcher and university professor Ibrahim Khatib stressed that Naftali Bennett’s government faces 3 main challenges, which are creating internal political stability, obtaining political consensus on important issues, and creating harmony among its components.
He added, in his speech to an episode (13/06/2021) of the “Beyond the News” program, that what happened, today, Sunday, in the voting session of objecting and not allowing Bennett to speak is evidence that the caretaker prime minister, Benjamin Chaitanya, will not leave this government alone, and will work diligently to obstruct its work.
Ibrahim al-Khatib expressed his conviction that the Bennett government would not be able to hold out for 4 years; Because of the internal challenges in the government, and the challenges facing the Zionist entity with the Palestinian state, noting that the contradictions over the settlement file only are very large within this government, and this is enough to judge its steadfastness.
For his part, writer and political analyst Akiva Eldar believes that the government coalition currently formed in Israel aims to overthrow Netanyahu, preserve the cohesion of the government, seek to deal with internal Israeli issues, and create an atmosphere of stability, noting that the settlement file and peace talks with the Palestinians will form big hitch.
He added that if the American position on the settlement file changes, this government will face a real test, which may lead to its downfall due to the multiplicity of opinions on this file, and its relationship with America will be at stake because of the settlement files and the nuclear agreement with Iran.
In turn, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirmed, “The form of any Israeli government will not change the nature of the movement’s dealing with Israel as a settlement occupier entity that must be resisted.” On the depth of the political crisis it is experiencing in parallel with its ongoing military and security crises.
