The Palestinian Prisoners Club said that a state of tension prevailed in the prisoner sections of the Negev prison, after forces affiliated with the Prisons Administration stormed a section where 60 prisoners are held.
The club added that the prison administration, in a step it described as malicious, removed prisoners from the section to transfer them to the rest of the prison sections However, the prisoners faced this measure by closing the wards and refusing to take meals.
The Prisoner’s Club pointed out that the prison administration recently escalated its abusive measures against the prisoners at several levels in an attempt to deprive more of their rights.
In another context, representatives of the bodies concerned with Palestinian prisoners and a group of their families organized a solidarity stand with the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons in front of the headquarters of the International Red Cross in Al-Bireh.
The stand comes in support of the prisoners and in support of the two prisoners, Ghazanfar Abu Atwan and Muhammad Awad, who are on hunger strike for the 22nd consecutive day, rejecting their administrative detention.
The protesters demanded the International Red Cross to take urgent action to restore the program of visits to the families of the prisoners that had been suspended for a year.
For its part, Al-Asir Club confirmed that the occupation forces arrested 28 Palestinians from several areas in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, last night and at dawn.
In a new statistic, the Prisoner Club confirmed that the occupation forces recorded more than 1,300 arrests in the West Bank; Among them are more than 700 arrests in occupied Jerusalem.
