A Palestinian woman succumbed to her wounds after being shot at at the Qalandia military checkpoint, at a time when the atmosphere is still tense in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
A statement by the Israeli police said that she was carrying a knife, and Palestinian platforms published a video clip and photos documenting the moment she was shot at the military checkpoint, which is located north of Jerusalem.
The occupation police claimed that the 28-year-old Palestinian approached the checkpoint and “ran towards the forces with a knife in her hand.”
“A civilian security guard realized what was happening and told her to stop several times,” the police statement said, and that when the woman continued to move, “the security guard fired several shots.”

Demonstrations also took place in support of the residents of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, and the occupation police arrested a number of Palestinians in the city, including children.
